The compliance of the port facilities at the car carrier terminal and the multipurpose terminal at the Port of Casablanca with the ISPS Code provisions was renewed in February 2024 by the Ministry of Equipment and Water following an update of the security assessments and plans for the East Terminal, the Car Carrier Terminal, and the Multipurpose Terminal. This renewal, lasting five years, is part of the Improvement of Security at our Terminals.

Effective July 1, 2004, under Chapter XI-2 of the SOLAS Convention, the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code forms the basis of a comprehensive and mandatory security regime for the international maritime transport sector.

The ISPS Code aims to create an international framework that promotes cooperation between contracting governments, governmental agencies, local administrations, and the maritime and port sectors to assess and detect potential threats to the security of ships and port facilities used in international trade, and to implement preventive security measures against these threats.
